Overview

Pructon was engaged to conduct a major maintenance shutdown of the Dragline 2 at Rolleston Mine. This comprehensive project involved a range of critical repairs and upgrades, including undercarriage work, boom lowering, boom upgrades, propel replacement, synch motor replacement, mast foot pin upgrades, roller path upgrades, and fairlead sheave replacement. The project also included the removal and repair of the hoist drum, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Scope of Work

  • Supervision: Provided expert supervision throughout the shutdown process.
  • Safety and Training Officer: Appointed a dedicated Safety and Training Officer to oversee compliance with safety protocols.
  • Tradesmen: Engaged skilled mechanical and welding tradesmen for the execution of repairs and upgrades.
  • Riggers and Dogman: Supplied qualified riggers and dogmen to support lifting operations.
  • Tradesman Assistants: Provided tradesman assistants to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
  • 24-Hour Rotational Basis: The shutdown was executed on a 24-hour rotational basis to meet project timelines.
