Overview

Pructon is playing a central role in the Inlet Works Mechanical Installation for the Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre (AWRC), a major sustainable infrastructure project by Sydney Water. Located 39 km west of Sydney in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, this facility is a pioneering bioresource hub for the region. Partnering with John Holland, Pructon is responsible for the supply, fabrication (at the Gladstone workshop), delivery, and on-site installation of critical mechanical components.

Scope of Work

  • Fabrication and Installation: Supply, fabrication, and installation of pipework systems; design, fabrication, and assembly of structural steel elements; precision alignment and grouting for mechanical equipment, including pumps, screens, and sluice systems.
  • Advanced Screening and Grit Removal: Installation of coarse and fine screening systems, wash presses, and grit removal equipment, meeting Sydney Water’s precise technical specifications.
  • Custom Engineering Solutions: Installation of specialised systems, such as emergency manual bar screens, penstocks, stopboards, and storage frames, alongside fabrication and installation of custom components, including screen blanking plates. Confined
  • Confined Space Work: Safe and compliant installation of critical infrastructure in confined spaces, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Comprehensive pressure testing, weld inspections (NDT), and cleanliness verification of all pipework systems, plus completion of Installation Test Plans (ITPs) to meet quality and performance benchmarks.
  • Sustainability and Compliance: Strict adherence to Sydney Water’s environmental standards, including using non-shrink mechanical grouts, isolation materials for dissimilar metals, and passivation of stainless steel components.
